S-E/N: Feel free to edit this anyone who gets bored..... PLEASE!! I'm just the sub-editor guy who puts all the posts together... Roughly. (Oh and S-E, as you may have guessed, stands for sub-editor. Cause that's me ) Because it's 1:30am, I couldn't even be bothered to go through and add the bold and italic and stuff in this post, lol. Yeah I'm that lazy. I MAY go through and add that when I can be bothered... But until then... Help me? *Puppy-dog eyes* Night all and enjoy the shoddiness that is currently our RP made partially into a story
Untitled As Of Yet
Jaize Grayson brushed a few stray, messy, black bangs from his face as he locked the front door of his apartment and slowly exited the building. Outside it was breezy and cold. Jaize sighed as the wind ruffled through his dark, black hair and continued to walk down the street. He was wandering around, as usual, with no exact destination of where he was going.
It seemed today that Jaize had walked to the park. He sat down on one of the open benches and looked at the scenery. Not many people were out, well, most people were smart enough to stay out of the wind; which, of course, caused him to shiver after thinking about it. So he stretched out on to the bench and stared up at the sky.
~*~*~
Sleep, the one thing that was prized by this young sorcerer. It was Monday and he needed to get to work, living did cost money. He had been threatened in the past about his behaviour at work; he was always walking out and disappearing. But that was only natural at his age, he did need his freedom. If he ever felt caught he just had to leave.
Though this was the very thing that always seemed to place Waite in danger; not that people were a problem, it was just that cars move a lot faster when they have a target.
Waite had intended on leaving his friend at home, where it was safer. But that cat always had gone where ever Waite had gone. Some would have seen Waite as being clueless, where in real fact he knew that Midnight had followed. Not wanting to ruin the fun, Waite just pretended that Midnight wasn’t there.
Waite didn't really like going to work, he was a “check out chick” at the local Chinese convenience store, and hated it. It earned him a pay check at which there was no complaint. He just hated that this job was a method of assimilation. No one would have suspected that a sorcerer was working in a convenience store. Well, that was the general theory that Waite had worked out.
Though hating his job there was one thing that Waite had liked about it, this was the park just across the busy highway; it was often filled with flowers that bloomed all year and even small birds that sang to the skies. He had gone there once, on a date and found the place romantic; he just loved how the moon shone in the middle of the lake. He never had the chance to go there again, after the date - and missed that person so much.
But lately, he felt that the park bore a form of evil. Maybe something was waiting, if it was for him, he didn‘t know.
~*~*~
Tahlia held her breath, sending a glare towards the edge of the pool she swam in the opposite direction - soon after she let out the breath she had been holding and sighed; swimming sucked.
As the others in the pool enjoyed themselves she swam to the edge and pulled herself out - thoughts of the book she had read the previous night still fresh in her mind.
It had described lots of pain gaining a first form, but at least she didn't have to make up anything for it. So... maybe she could live with it.
Picking up her towel she wrapped it around herself and headed for the exit... it would be interesting to see her first form. She just hoped she wouldn't be conscious during the pain part of it.
~*~*~
It was shortly after the departure of his companion and that was when Midnight woke. He was much the same as Waite and even had some of the same mannerisms. It's just that no one other then his companion could understand him.
He left the apartment soon after eating the food that was given to him in his bowl. He had no where special to go, it's just that he needed to be close to his friend. It was only natural that they stay together, even if Waite never knew about it.
~*~*~
He was at the front of the store as he saw a strange man walk into the path of a truck - almost completely white; his hair, and his skin. Waite turned as he heard the noise; the horn of the truck had attracted his complete attention. Then he saw a female dressed in barely any winter cloths. She had shouted and had even attempted to save this unstable man.
What was going on? The man had vanished, to leave the woman there alone - in immediate danger. He couldn’t stand to watch, and had cast his magic. He just hoped it worked, and that nobody would have noticed.
Soon after…
And nobody did, as it would have seemed. Though people had started to crowd around, all asking “what had happened?” and “is everyone ok, is anyone injured?” How foolish.
He noticed the women as she ran into the park. He had to follow, and so he did. She ran and he kept up, Midnight would have followed suit.
~*~*~
Trevor groaned and looked at his clock -- 11:00 AM flashed at him in unforgiving red -- letting out a small irritated noise from the back of his throat he threw his covers back over his head -- let it be known -- he never had been a day person.
~*~*~
Ianthe stretched out on her couch as she watched her favourite movie for the twentieth time; her unlife hadn't been that adventurous lately and prey had gotten easier to find.
She switched off her TV and headed towards the spare room of her apartment; Anna hadn't been home in weeks; what had happened?
~*~*~
Envy sat, huddled to the brick wall of a building, sketch pad resting on her knees as she done her best to sketch the park scene in front of her. Every now and then a vehicle would pass by and momentarily block her vision of the park across the street. The cold wind forced her green fringe into her face, her black hair pulled tightly into a braid at her left cheek. How long would she sit today before her legs grew numb?
Envy closed her eyes for a moment and took in her surroundings using her other senses. It always seemed to calm her. Scoping the park one more time before looking down at her artwork, she found herself less then satisfied by the image on the page. Growling she stood and threw her book hard to the ground before storming toward the park. She was tired of her art. It always seemed to mess up in some way. Thinking of what she had just seen she shuddered. The twisted figure just kept showing up but she could never remember drawing them; it spooked her.
Crossing the street, Krystal held her arms close to herself as the wind made attempts to steal her footing. Her pleated kilt style mini flew about on the wind; if it weren't for the pins holding the pleats the skirt would be lifting. Her fishnet singlet offered no warm but for the strip of black material that covered her chest. Her deep emerald green trench coat flew behind her along with the loose laces of her knee highs.
Looking up and brushing her fringe from her eyes she caught site of a tall, white haired man stepping out onto the road ahead. A truck horn sounded and it was then that she realized a semi careening towards him. "Mr!! Mr, stop!!" She cried. The man continued to step forward. "Sir I'm begging you!!" Making a dash for him, all the while questioning his mental stability-along with her own. Inches from the stranger she reached out for his hand. Why hadn't she grasped it? He wasn't there! Turning her head to the truck she stood, eyes wide with fear and shock, staring at the truck like a deer caught in headlights.
A shriek escaped her throat and she clamped her eyes shut tight and curled her arms around her head as the sound of glass shattering and metal colliding echoed through the air.
Moments later...
Opening her eyes she stared around her at the wreckage of one semi, two cycles and about 7 or 8 cars; all who had either swerved to miss her or swerved to miss other oncoming traffic. Krystal had collapsed to her knees. From her place on the cold tarmac she could see a crowd gathering and thought now to be a great time to run. Scrambling to her feet she sped off into the park towards the lake she knew to wait in the centre.
Panting, Krystal fell to her knees and clamped her eyes shut. Almost at breaking point she held back her screams, she had already caused enough commotion. What would she do now? Surely this would be on the news; people had seen her run in front of the truck only to cause an accident and later flee the scene. The last thing she wanted was to be noticed, least of all by the media.
Lifting her head, she stared up at the grey winter sky as the clouds rolled on. It looked as though it would storm tomorrow or the next day, she could not be sure; she could smell that it was close. Closing her eyes and sitting her hands in her lap she tried to calm her nerves, though the chilly wind against her legs wasn't aiding any.
~*~*~
Tahlia stood in front of her mirror - after the pain... this wasn't bad. She had messy brown hair, dull brown eyes and... A lack of boobage... She clenched her eyes shut and didn't look down... slowly she made her way to her closet and pulled out some clothes she had nicked from her brother just in case something of this sort had happened.
Quickly she changed and sat down on her bed, albeit with difficulty. Thus began the life of Rex Chase... oh joy.
Rex wandered around the town - his brown eyes alight. Interesting what had happened - the girl saw something. Casually he strolled up to one of the people surveying the scene and its damage.
"What happened here?" The situation was described and Rex frowned - interesting. Perhaps it was only a coincidence, but he'd only get a better answer from the girl involved.
What the hell am I doing?! You're acting in the persona of Rex Chase. Who is Rex Chase? Someone on the run from a certain Council of- Don't you dare finish that sentence! Magics. Tahlia knew if mental profiler helpers could smirk - this one would have been doing so.
~*~*~
Jaize shifted slightly on the bench. His butt was getting numb from sitting out in the cold and something in the back of his head told him to go somewhere warm. Maybe it was his common sense finally kicking in? Jaize slowly stood up, brushed the non-existent dust from his pants and ran a hand through his hair.
Turning he noticed someone sitting on the ground, staring upward. Obviously someone else without common sense... He walked casually over to her, "Hey, you okay, Miss?"
Krystal jolted and swiftly turned her head to the one whom had spoken, recoiling from them slightly in doing so. "Um..." She began upon seeing a young man standing not feet from her person. "I'm- Yes. Yes I'm fine." She came to the conclusion quickly; though her still quaking body and heavy breath said otherwise. How had I not heard him sneak up on me like that?
He crouched down slightly to see her clearly. She was thin; maybe 15 to 17, had a sleek build, but was short for her age. She had heavy eyeliner that stood out against her pale skin. Her black hair was braided and her green fringe was covering her left eye.
"You know, it's pretty cold out," He said smiling, "Maybe you should head home." He rose back into a standing position and offered his hand to help her up. "By the way, my name's Jaize, Jaize Grayson."
Krystal looked surprised for a few moments, but nodded and took the boy she now knew to be Jaize's hand. "Krystal Kingsley. Um... Thanks for your concern." Hmm... If only home was an option. At the present moment her land lord was being a prick and demanding early rent even though he knew full well that Krys couldn't pay up until the following Friday. He had always disliked Krystal and wanted her out of his flats. No, home wasn't an option right now. "Well you probably have better things to do than stand and worry about a random like me. So... I guess... See ya?" Brushing her fringe aside a little, her emerald eyes fell to Jaize's dress. He seemed to come from a good enough background; his clothes were clean, unlike her coat with the stain on the front pocket... But things happen.
"No problem... See ya," Jaize said, brushing past her to leave. He strolled out of the park and gazed over the many cars in a traffic jam. Something had happened... But it didn't concern him. He wasn't involved.
So he turned and, while accidentally bumping into a man with messy brown hair and promptly apologizing, walked into a shop across the road.
"Yeah - sorry too." Rex wandered around the site for a few moments; he'd be ushered away sooner or later, but he'd rather get all he could first. Was it them? But why would they endanger a civilian? Better yet - how could they see it... and what did they see?
If only he could find the damn girl!
Krystal watched the boy's back as he departed. Jaize? Hmm. Turning she looked forward toward the lake. She knew it well, from her childhood. Walking to its edge she stared down into its waters, her reflection staring back. No, not her reflection; Envy stared back at her.
It was freezing already and her toes where numb, even inside her boots. Nevertheless, she slipped off her boots and stepped cautiously into the ice cold water. Not long and it'll be frozen over me thinks. Chills ran up and down her spine, one after the other. But still she stood, green slivers hinting at weed floating about her toes.
~*~*~
Trevor turned in his bed -- he was out for too long... and his dreams were still plagued.
Blood -- it always featured -- even as a small child. Most likely the reason why -- he had always tried to stay awake during the night -- as the shadows can't plague children during the day.
If only his logic was right -- his parents had thought there was something wrong with him -- tiering himself out all the time -- counselling didn't do much to stop any of the dreams, but finally -- they just stopped talking.
Back then everything would just -- stop.
Speaking of things stopping -- why didn't he? The nightmare would end. With a groan he turned again. "OOF! ... Aw man!"
He sat up and rubbed his eyes -- god; what time was it?

Waite had finally caught up with the girl. She ran at a good speed; Waite had found it hard to keep up, and had lost his way. Confirming that it was the girl, he was surprised to see that she, the one from the road, was standing in the lake.
‘You shouldn’t be doing that, you might catch something. And I am not referring to a fish’, smiling slightly, and waiting for her to acknowledge him.
He felt that he should be there. He knew that his boss would have properly attacked him for being late, but that would be decided when he actually shows up. And he knew that this day was to be a lot more interesting then work.
Turning quickly so that her hair flew out behind her and the ribbon she had used to tie it off flew from her hair on the ever growing wind, Krystal saw the one who had spoken; another man. "Sir I'm fine. I-" Her world spun but her feet were still on the ground. "-I'm fi- I'm-" And her face fell to the icy cold water. Why could she feel hands on the back of her neck as she struggled to get up? On lookers would think her to be having a seizure, surely, as she flailed around. Trying to hold her breath, she broke and the water stung her lungs until she felt the world go black.
~*~*~
He did not know what had happened to her; she was under the water and had struggled. He ran to the lake as quickly as he could and used all his strength for a speedy rescue. He knew that something was wrong with her and that he could not stop to question the event.
He was able to lift her out of the water, then had walked to and lied her down on the bench. He realised that she had lost consciousness and he then started to resuscitate her. Many of the general public had already started to move over and were hopeful to help. But were too slow, 5 minutes into the resuscitation the woman started to regain consciousness. Coughing the water from her lungs she gasped for air, it would be awhile until she was completely recovered.
‘At least it wasn’t a cold’, Waite smiled uneasily and then asked. ‘Are you alright, Miss?’
Krystal's eyes opened a fraction to let in some of the dim light that the cloudy day offered. Her back was against something hard and above her a man's face came into focus, his jet black hair falling about his face. With his soft, deep blue eyes looking down at her she couldn't help but smile. His face was warm as he said, "Are you alright, Miss?"
"Yes. Thank you, I'm fine." Sitting up and looking around she came to find that she was soaking wet and sitting on a hard bench. "Um... How did I get here?"
‘You were standing in the lake and all of a sudden you fell into the water, struggling, and you needed help.’ with a darker more serious tone he continued. ‘I went in and pulled you out. You had lost consciousness.” He looked at the small gathering that had circled around and had wondered if it were safe to talk. He had seen her from the road and he ran after her; he needed an explanation. However, cheered as he saw that he had helped her again.
"Oh...... Thank you for looking after me then." She stood and looked around at the faces staring back at her. Feeling a blush creep up from her neck, she glared and said "What are you all looking at? I'm fine!"
Taken aback, the crowd of nosey people slowly moved away and hurried about their business once more. That's better. "Once again... Thank you, uh-" And then she realized. "What's your name?" He had never told her and the two had never before this day met. "I'm Krystal."
“Well, I am Waite,” he then stood up with Krystal and surveyed those that had crowded around the pair. “This isn’t going to be easy, but can you tell me what that man wanted?” His face changed from cheer to a more serious appearance. He knew that something was at a miss and was ever curious as to what happened. But then again, he was always curious; many had placed in down to the fact that was always with his cat. Curiosity killed the cat.
~*~*~
Rex sighed exasperated and looked up to the sky - it would rain soon he noticed. He should start heading back - he avoided rain like the plague.
Absently he headed through the park - a short detour wouldn't matter. He had around three quarters of an hour he supposed.
Rex frowned lightly - what the man wanted... - so it was them.
He stepped out into the clearing and quietly made his way over, but as he saw Waite he stopped short - a sorcerer; could he sense? Would he sense?
"Yes - I'm rather curious about that as well." He spoke finally; nodding towards the sorcerer and girl. "That man - was it? A description would help also."
Krystal was confused, who were all these people? Where were they coming from?
"Man? What man? What are you all talking about?"
Her eyes seemed to darken slightly and she crossed her arms, holding back a smirk.
"Just get to the point and tell me what you want." Envy said flatly.
"Well; either you saw something or you're suicidal. Take yo-" Rex stopped short - his image was fading quickly. With a barely concealed sigh of aggravation he turned, "Forget it girl, by the way - good luck." If it really was them she'd need it.
As soon as he was far enough away his image wavered and he was replaced with Tahlia Luke - who's only words were...
What - the - hell?
Tahlia sighed as she walked home - she gave it five minutes remembering Rex's estimation. There was barely enough time to get home now; with yet another woeful sigh she walked in the general direction of her home. There was a reason she always avoided the park... she just didn't know it yet. (OOC: That's because... I don't know it yet LOL)
But... it was like she wasn't controlling Rex at all; like he was just someone else... with a shrug she forgot about it just as it started raining softly. With a curse she hurried home; stupid rain...
~*~*~
Waite had thought that the interruption by man had altered Krystal’s mood. He did not notice at first it was not a mood swing of any description. She had seemed sweet and slightly confused, but then became a mean type of character. Waite had thought there being a great change in her; as if she had became a completely different person.
It could have been the shock of the day’s events. She did seem to have forgotten the creature from road. But how? It was a creature that many could never forget. Waite being puzzled by the forgetfulness of Krystal; knew that this needed more attention.
Startled... He waited…
Envy wrinkled up her nose slightly. "What was HIS problem? Eh!" Closing her eyes tightly she groaned in what seemed to be pain. ~LET ME OUT ENVY!!~ Krystal screamed inside her head. "Annoying..... Brat....." She whimpered. "Why... AK!" And then it stopped. Able to contain Krystal further she stood as tall as one of 5 odd feet could and looked back to Waite. "Well? You wanted?"
Waite saw Krystal as she cringed in pain and as she closed her eyes, he felt the as though there was the struggle in her head. Dragged between pain, and consciences.
On recovery he knew that it was certain. He was sure that he had heard a voice.
“Who is Envy?” Waite couldn’t help what he said, the words had just slipped out of his mouth. Taken aside by what he asked the took the second to notice his cat. Midnight had being there for only a small amount of time. But, also was curious as to what was happening.
He closed his eyes and felt the gentle rain hit him. He guessed that the rain was just another complication that stood between him and the answers that his curiosity craved. Not many people liked the rain, and feared that Krystal would run because of that.
Midnight moved under Waite, comfortably between his legs. It did start to get cold with the rain, rather quickly actually. Strange, but expected in the city. Even stranger was that Waite had always loved the cold, as well as the rain. He just felt as ease; he’d always look to the sky, and watch the droplets in freefall.
Though he was at ease, with the falling rain, he did not made the effort to relax his typical posture. If anything, he strived to remove all emotion. This was necessary as this was a serious situation. It wasn’t every day that he helped a drowning person, and have them change almost completely before his eyes.
He was sure that he was not talking to Krystal but in fact talking to Envy. That would be the correct assumption to make; he just had to push more buttons. It was his curiosity that done this to him.
“Will you answer, Envy?”
Envy's eyes narrowed. "What in the hell are you?" ~STOP IT!!~
Able to gather strength from Envy herself, Krystal broke through. With a squeak, the calmer girl stumbled forward a step and made a fast attempt to recollect herself with her lost energy tiring her.
"That's a good question you just asked. Who's Envy? Well I need to get home. My mother will be worried." She turned an ran, where she'd go was still unknown to her. Her mother had not been aware of her only child's existence for the past 4 years.
"Hey, you dropped something." He shouted, but no response. He knelt down to retrieve what appeared to be a ribbon. Waite wasn't sure, he was near blind at times. But after feeling its silky white texture he was sure it was a ribbon. He could return now, but the girl had already made her distance. "It is still raining, do you think that she would be able to run forever?'" he said to Midnight, though it was more spoken to himself then to the cat. "What the hell - " he broke into a jog, and then into a run. Midnight followed. "work is uber boring."
He ran for as long as he could, but knew that soon he would have to stop.
The park was a dangerous place at night, as everyone knows. He felt that Krystal knew the same.
'Damn ribbon,' muttered as he approached a bench for a rest. 'Why did she have to run?'
'Cause she could, I guess.' Answered Midnight.
He sat and stared into a void, and barley spoke single word. He stood and started to make his way home. It was really late and the park was a big place anything could have happened.
'You might see her tomorrow, or on the way home' said to comfort, but it didn't work.
~*~*~
Rain... Pfft, a terrible thing. Damn water drops of doom. At least, that's what Jaize thought. He hated the rain for two main reasons. It's cold... and it's wet. That's why he was comfortably snuggled into his bed back at his apartment.
There was another reason for his strong dislike of the rain, but Jaize didn't like to talk, or think, about it.
Today was too hectic for his liking. First, the strange encounter with that girl, then, the traffic build-up and now; rain. Damn!
~*~*~
Krystal ran for as long as she could before her legs gave out from underneath her and she fell hard on the concrete path. With a gasp and a hiss of pain she sat up and leant her back to a brick wall. Unsure of where she was, she looked around for any small sign of familiarity, but none came.
"Great..." She curled her knees up to her body and gingerly hugged them. Would she just stay here the night? It was far too late to make her way home and at least there was a little shelter across the path.
Krystal made her way slowly over to the shelter and slid down the wall. Her knees and palms were still stinging from the fall before, her skin was torn and raw. Her clothes were still very damp and she was freezing, she needed to visit Mr Wong tomorrow morning. Closing her eyes Krystal slowly fell asleep.
~*~*~
'WAKE UP'
~ ~ ~
It was early morning, and the sun was bright. It was also a new day.
Waite ran to work with toast hanging from his lips. His boss would explode. But, Waite signed on and started to work. He just hoped that his absence wasn't noticed, yesterday.
His boss had nearly attack him, but Waite was on the defence. He just had to calm his boss with a little magic and explain the details.
'Yep, a girl; a beauty one in fact,' he stated clearly.
'Well, GET TO WORK. Costumers don't want to know about you and some girl!' a response that set a knot in Waite's stomach. There were no costumers...
~*~*~
Krystal had woken later then usual, by a passer by checking her pockets again. So far she had a count of that happening 4 times over the past month, hopefully it wouldn't become a common occurrence.
She walked along the sidewalk, regretting tossing her art book yesterday. Looking across the road she saw the park again, how had she ended up back here without noticing? There was glass scattered across the road from the accident yesterday, but all the vehicles were gone now. Stopping, she looked down at her feet upon hearing her boot scuff something. A black covered book lay at her feet with soggy pages, a lead pencil sat a few feet towards a trash can. How had they both survived the night? Bending down she picked the book from the ground and held it up as it dripped muddy water. Peeling the pages back one by one she scanned the damage, not much, seeing as they were all in lead, but every page had a brown tinge and was wrinkled. It'd never be the same again, even if it was dried.
She picked her pencil from the ground and pocketed both. Looking further down the street she saw where she needed to be. The dry cleaners. Her pace picked up quickly as she made for the only place she would receive free service, and perhaps some spare cash to buy herself breakfast.
Krystal walked from the cleaners in a black pleated mini, spider-webbed fishnets, an emerald green corset, Doc Martins and a black ground-length coat. It was great to have a friend who dealt with clothing. Her hair was clean too, she'd used the shower in the back room. It was pulled back into two plaits either side of her head.
She walked back down the street and noticed a convenience store. Perhaps she could get a few things with the $80 her friend had VERY generously supplied her with.
Walking in she looked around. It was very vacant.
Walking further into the store she done a pirouette like spin in search of someone... Anyone?
What, was this a ghost store or, "Can I help you?"
"AH!!" Spinning, Krystal found a young man standing at what was now in front of her. "Jesus you scared me..." She breathed.
"I'm sorry. But you looked very lost." He smiled politely, but the flash of red that she thought she saw cross his eye gave Krystal completely different signals. "Is there anything that you may need help with?"
"Uh, no. I was just out and decided to take a quick look around. Well now I've taken it so g'bye!" She turned and ran down one of the isles seeing as he was blocking the door.
"Wait! Miss?....." His footsteps were getting closer. "Mi~ss? C'mout, c'mout, you can't hide... Krystal."
Her heart was beating a hundred miles/per hour. God as if yesterday wasn't enough... But now this? What in the heck was going on around here... And always near this place.
"Coincidence? I think not Reginald." She mumbled and got to her knees before crawling on all fours down the isle a few rows down as he was getting far too close.
A bang could be heard and things fell. What in the-? "Krystal, my love, my dearest. There's no hiding from- Hello love."
Krystal screamed as someone dropped themselves down in front of her, instinct told her to run but her brain forced her into a ball, tucking her legs to her body and throwing her arms over her face.
"I told you that you couldn't hide, gorgeous." He said grabbing one of her wrists.
"How in the fuck do you know my name?!" A laugh was all the reply she received as she was hauled to her feet and dragged towards the back room.

Oi kid, you're late. Five more minutes... ...
"AH!!!" Tahlia jumped out of bed, landing on the floor in a heap. Looking around paranoid she scrambled for the door until finally, coherent thought was in her capability range. "Damn... don't scare me like that!"
~*~*~
A Scream!
Waite thought that he heard her, but how? He ran to the noise and found her in the aisle. She was attacked, but he was wearing the shop's tag. But, who was he?
Waite summoned a missile and shot it directly to the attacker. They never did miss.
As the guy was distracted Waite cast a dimension spell. The guy was know gone, but when he looked back to Krystal he could only think. "Lover?"
Krystal blinked once, twice... Had that all been a dream? Had she been dreaming since yesterday? Perhaps she hadn't woken yet...
She looked up and met eyes with, "You?" Oh this just wasn't happening. As if she hadn't embarrassed herself enough yesterday. But again? "Oh no.... Nooo, no, no. You just saved me again... But... Oh I'm dreaming." She said standing. "Two freaky dudes in one day... And bumping into you twice? Coincidence? I think not." She brought her hands to her face. "Oh I don't know anymore... ARGH!" She let her legs slide out from underneath her so as to fall to the floor again. It seemed the best place to recollect at the time.
'She's glad to see you again!'
'I know but maybe it is shock. It has happened to nearly everyone else I've met.'
'Yeah.. You have a knack for making others crazy.' Midnight broke off into laughter. He saw it funny as most of the time people did go crazy with Waite around.
Waite reached out and lifted her up from the floor. As he supported her weight, they walked slowly to the brake room. She was stubborn. After both yesterday and today's events, who could have blamed her. 'Don't forget the ribbon, Romeo.' He then broke off into laughter again. He was such loon at times, but he was a serious kind a guy. If you ignored the cat bit. 'Thanks' Waite replied with a level of sarcasm noted in his thought pattern.
'Oh...Your ribbon? You left it yesterday.' He placed he on a chair and searched his pockets, he soon found the silk length of material. 'Stop laughing, Night. Just a thought. I wander if she is really human? After yesterday, and now, today..' He froze for the moment to ponder on it. 'I was wandering when your were going to stop thinking with your penis'
Krystal sat pouting on the chair she had been sat upon. Looking up at hearing his words, she saw her ribbon laced in his fingers. "Oh!" She reached out and carefully took it into her own delicate hands. "Uh... Yeah, thanks." She mumbled. Krystal was never a people person. They made her uneasy and kinda hungry at times... These thoughts worried her.
"Well.... I, uh... I should really be going. I have to pick up some clothes in a short while." In truth she didn't really dig the idea of being on her own when there was freaks like that guy back there around. But hey, she'd lived on the streets for a few good years now. She could handle it..... Right? She stood, her legs felt like lead and her stomach was still all knotted from the scare. But she'd endured worse.

She just left. She had said thank you and didn't ask any questions. He preferred it that way, maybe it was for the better. But... Waite wasn't a guy that ever really complained.
'Good Bye,' the sound was forced and even harder to hear. Afterward, he simple went back to work. 'She might be back. I can see her outside!.'
'Hope your right... human or not.'
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
'To darkness... When I fall... I will see you in Hell!' A teen dressed with a bubble gum pink T-shirt and bright green shoes song the Aiden song on the top of his lungs. Other then that, he could have been considered normal. Does he even know he is in pubic?
'HEY!! KID!! YOUR BEING SERVED!!' Waite took the items from the kid and swiped them through the scanner. 'NOW!.. If you can't sing, don't sing, k?'
'Break Time!' He yawned and went to the break room. 'Mm.. Mr Coffee machine, what will it be today?' Talking to the coffee machine was a bad habit, he realised this. But, the machine brought so much mechanical goodness to his life. It deserves some respect, at least.
Waite blocked out everything.
'Why does it rain?' Waite asked, blushing as he looked into their eyes. He seemed so innocent when he felt safe.
It was raining heavily. They sat on the park bench, eating chips under the shelter.
'Water evaporates, then condenses... ' Stopped mid-sentence, trying to explain the details. Interrupted by a kiss on the lips. It was a soft, closed mouth kiss. Waite had even watched the movies to practice, and take notes.
Pulling back, Waite's smile soon turned. He had frightened his friend. The movies would not help him here.
'Fucking crushes,' continuing to curse as he returned to reality.
Leaving the coffee room, it was decided that it was home-time. The goal of everyday, and the one of the many things for all to enjoy. At home he did not have much. But, it was there that he had his bed, food, and old photos. It was all that he felt he needed.
As he finished his coffee he had noticed his boss turn the sign; "Closed. Business Hours: 8:00pm to 8:00pm."
It was a public holiday, so the store was only open to cover the "breakfast rash."
Waite picked up his bag, then his pay, and left via the rear door. A couple of tossed garbage cans, and some blood; nothing out of the ordinary. To him at least. He had lived in the city for all his life. Blood was common. 'Are those photo really that important?'
'Not at all.'
'Then why not go out.'
'Nah...'
'He misses you though...'
Waite shivered; against the idea. Too shy, and still too afraid. He missed him, too. But how could they have missed him, in return?
'Shut Up, Nigh.' Muttered under his breathing.
He reached the road, from the alley. Midnight followed.
~*~*~
Trevor awoke once more -- with a look at his alarm clock he froze. "Shit -- how the fuck did that happen?!"
It was slowly getting later in the day as Trevor walked outside his apartment and into the outside world. It was a few moments later when he found what he was looking for... a -- jewellery store?
"Welcome!" A cheery voice exclaimed on his arrival -- but it stopped short as they saw him. "Oh -- it's you. Here's your delivery -- next time don't be late or I'll keep it. It's really beau-- hey! Don't walk away while I'm talking to you -- come back here!"
Trevor pulled out the necklace -- it was silver with a sea-blue cross with chains around it. Beautiful? Next time I have to find something to actually disturb her.
~*~*~
Krystal walked for the door. She hadn't been out long, surely her clothes wouldn't be ready yet. Choosing upon finding a café or something of the like, she opened the door and left, closing it lightly behind her and leaning against it for a moment to regain a more stable composure.
For a moment she hesitated, some part of her wanted to open the door again, to ask questions... But she wasn't the type to question things. Not seriously anyway. Though things had been rather odd recently...... No! No, should could not change herself now. Pushing off the door she headed for the exit. She would find a café, eat something, and then return to her clothes. It was as simple as that.
~*~*~
Tahlia ran down the street, her long vinyl jacket flew out behind her; most would laugh roll her eyes at her (her jacket being fake and all), but she liked it. She was late! Why did she have to sleep in? Serasome (or Sera as she rathered) was going to kill her for it!
As she made her way in the doors of the small cafe she worked in she apologised quickly to her friend and went to the back to get her work clothes.
"Tah, Tahlia." Sera smirked as she left. Tahlia groaned and set off to start waiting tables... a typical late day.
~*~*~
Krystal walked into the cafe and took a seat in one of the single booths. The menu was decent so she decided that she would eat here, bacon and eggs would be fine though.
Tahlia stopped at a table and glanced up at the customer before looking down, "May I take your order?" She inquired simply. Then looking up again she realised it was that girl... the one that had to look out for something. Keeping her mouth shut Tahlia waited for the girl in front of her to order.
"Yeah... Just eggs and bacon please. And a tall glass of orange juice." Krystal looked up and smiled sweetly at the waitress, she seemed nice.
She watched the girl retreat and picked up the salt and pepper shakers.
Insert a salt and pepper shakers Romeo + Juliet re-enactment here "And now, I die..." The pepper shaker fell with a dull thud to the table.
"Nice re-enactment." Tahlia spoke as she arrived with the food, "Here's your breakfast. Sorry for the wait." She smiled and giving Krystal a small nod she walked to another table to take orders.
Why aren't you talking to her?! She doesn't know me. She knows Rex... kinda. Doesn't stop you now! Look. She's a customer. You don't bother the-
Tahlia turned back to Krystal for one more moment, "Excuse me, I don't mean to be rude, but you don't know a Rex Chase, do you? I'd heard he was in the park last night sometime and I was wondering if you'd been there."
I hate you.
Krystal blushed furiously about being caught with the shakers and promptly placed them where they belonged on the table.
Looking up at the waitress as she returned she answered with look of confusion, "Rex Chase?" I was in the park but....
A young male with golden brown curls walked into the cafe, and sat close to the window. Pulling out his book, a pen, and paper; he waited for someone to take his order.
Matthew was a second year university student, studying for a degree with a major in psychology. He was also going for a major in chemistry, as well as, physics.
Seated quietly, he worked on his individual; studying paranormal beliefs. As he took notes from his book, he could not help to wonder: What if all these stories were real?
Matthew smirked as he placed the thought aside. He could ponder on that later...
Tahlia laughed sheepishly and replied with a 'don't worry about it'. Turning she headed towards the back of the cafe, arguing quite loudly in her head with 'the voice with no name' as it were... named.
Letting the door swing shut behind her she groaned exasperatedly and headed for the bathroom. Locking the door behind her she pulled out her bag.
Moments later Rex Chase slipped out the window; cursing about the sticky-note stuck to his shoe.
Just go home first, alright!
Pulling the sticky note off his shoe he wandered down the back of the cafe. He needed some way to fix everything, too bad he couldn't just wave a magic wand and fix everything himself.
Stepping through the door of the cafe he walked past a studious personage. Glancing at his notes he stopped, moving so he could sit across from the person he made his presence known.
"Detailed notes, but how do you know the information you have is true?"
'Go away. I am working.'
What is it with the city, and random guys? Sure... A cute one would be great!
"I apologise for wanting an intellectual conversation. Excuse me for wanting to talk oh-so-intelligent one. I'm at your fucking mercy." Rex rolled his eyes and stood, walking towards the door he paused at one of the booths.
Shrugging his shoulders he stepped outside and walked the long way to where his meeting was set up.
What a fucking jerk? I'll interrupt him next time when he is trying to study!
Don't worry yourself. He would have being confused by the jargon anyway.
Looked to his phone, 'Back to school,' he said to himself. Matthew did speak to himself often, or, he just knew no-one bothered to listen. At least he never replied out loud; simply answered any questions and got on with life.
Bag packed with his notes, glasses, books, and everything else he brought. He paid his bill and made his way to the Hawthorne University. Glad that he wore his sleeves, as usual, he noticed the chilly morning air as it hit his face.
'Mmm.. The cold' The cool breeze was welcomed. Matthew loved the cold. Not just for its lower temperatures, nor the flora.

The whole Council doubted the abilities of the employee named Erin; she was down as a psychic. But all her predictions came wrong, if she said you would win the lottery it was the exact opposite. The Council hated it. Because at times she also spoke in riddles.
"You aren't going to get branded. Isn't it lucky?" She smiled lightly at Rex; who frowned. Branded? What?
"Now!" Rex jumped back just in time to dodge on of the members of Council. As they rose he kicked them back down. He turned just as quickly dodging another member; he could see the knife in their sleeve as easily as he could see anyone else.
Suddenly he felt the twisting in his gut, shit, he was changing back. Damn girl couldn't control the change yet! Tahlia opened her eyes and looked up at the people around her... SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
"He went that way!" Tahlia pointed to her left, the Council merely looked at her like she was crazy. As they moved in for her, chloroformed handkerchiefs in hand, Tahlia ran through a convenient gap.
~*~Elsewhere~*~
Rex groaned as he fell roughly back into his own body. Shit. What if the girl had gotten him caught? Standing he walked to his computer. A little hacking would help his cause he guessed.
Rex Chase They had started a file on him? It didn't have much... basically he eluded the members, but as he thought of Tahlia he frowned. They would start one on her and she wasn't even what she thought she was. He wasn't even what she thought he was.
Maybe it was better this way. Reading through the other files he paused on a name that was familiar to him - Krystal's.
~*~
Oh! That was so freaky! ... Why were they after Rex? I-He's a fugitive. I know that! But what'd he do? Heeee... hacked into their main database. Stole information. Killed members of Council. Rejected joining the Council. They'll want you too now, because of m-him. You're Rex aren't you. Yeah. So, I'm not really a pretender am I? No. I've just been using your body and changing it. Your body couldn't handle it for long today because you were exhausted. I see... You know Rex... I thought you were rather annoying at first, I mean why'd you have to be a guy? If I were female I wouldn't be as interesting. Wait... you... voice... >.< Lemme alone! Perv! What the hell?! You've seen me naked!!! LEMME ALONE! -_-; I'm not a perv! I haven't looked! Oh... sorry ^^; Cheh.
~*~*~
Jaize wasn't surprised when he woke up at one of those un-godly times of the day... He got up and walked to the small bathroom that his apartment had. Discarding his clothes, Jaize stepped into the shower and turned the taps on.
A few minutes later after standing under the warm spray of water, Jaize couldn't help but think he'd forgotten something... Oh well, he would probably remember what it was anyway.
Walking out of the shower 5 minutes later, Jaize went back to the bedroom with a towel around his waist. Getting changed in black jeans, a simple red shirt and black joggers, Jaize wandered out the door and down the street.
His thoughts were on a certain pale-skinned, dark-haired girl. Krystal Kingsley, wasn't it? She had been sitting on the ground the other day, so, being as cold as it was, he had checked to see if she was okay.
He wondered if she was okay after he had left, she seemed a little jumpy. Hopefully that incident on the road was involved with her. Though, the guy he had ran into before seemed to be in hurry to get to the park...
Ah well, just like the car crash, he wasn't known enough to be involved... Which actually quite good. He had had enough of that crap that could equal enough for almost a lifetime, so why start again now?
Slowly walking down the path next to the road, he continued to think... Then stopped.
He had forgotten...
"SHIT!!!!!" He yelled breaking into a run the opposite way he was going, 'Fuck! I have to go to work!!'
~*~*~
Krystal sighed with embarrassment and went about eating her breakfast
~~~
She'd finished, paid and was heading out through the front door. Perhaps she could go for another walk through the park... A more pleasant one perhaps?
Crossing the road she thought she saw a white something cross beside her. Stopping she turned... Nothing. Not again, not today. She bolted across the road and into the park, stepping onto the grass and, "AH!" She fell backwards half onto the concrete as she hit hard into something... A something?
Something cold floated in front of her. Opening her eyes she saw a hand, pale and cold. Following it up to the shoulder and then to the fa- She gasped and wriggled backwards. He had caused the accident yesterday. He was that guy. "Allow me to help you." His voice was as icy as his presence and sounded like it was water logged, drowning, choking... His hand reached down further, extending his fingers and turning over, reaching for... She screamed, stood and fled further into the park. Why always the park? Was she drawn there? NO! She didn't believe and that shit... Or at least she tried not to...
Further and further into the park, she felt something cold close in around her ankles. Looking down she found the water... She was here again? Turning she found nothing, no one. Just people passing through, staring at her in all her embarrassment. Blushing she stepped from the water and walked to the bench. Why always here? Why this place?
Running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, run-- Well, you get the idea.
Okay, down the street, cross the road, while dodging speeding cars, jump the fence, jump the ben-- person sitting on bench?
"Shi--!" He muttered while coming to a skidded halt. Breathing heavily, he looked up. "Hey, *pant*, never thought I'd see you *pant* again."
"Hey! It's you!" Krystal sat upright. It was that guy from yesterday... The guy that... "Hey I... Never thought-" ~Wait a minute! Shut up! Stop saying what you're saying and walk away... He's........... A HE! You don't get crushes...~ She closed her mouth and looked down at her feet. "Yeah, hey." Fighting a blush, she no longer knew what to do.
Not able to suppress the on-coming blush, Jaize rubbed the back of his head and chuckled. "So, uh, how are you?"
Krystal shrugged "I must say that I've been better, but I've also been worse." She looked up with a weak, blushing smile. "And you?"
"Meh, can't complain," He said with a shrug of his shoulders. He looked around the park, hoping that perhaps she was still alone. "But I never suspected you as the type to speak in riddles."
Finally glancing back at Krystal, Jaize gave a small smile, "What brings you back here?"
Krystal tilted her head to the side as her smile became more confident. "Well you don't know me, I could be a Shakespearian(SP?) actress and you wouldn't have a clue." She moved her legs to the ground and straightened her back. "I'm not sure. Usually I just draw the park but never enter it... I wouldn't know my way around if you paid me to try." She chuckled slightly.
Looking up to the canopy of beech trees she closed her eyes and sighed, momentarily zoning out before looking back to the boy in front of her. "Do you live near here?"
"Ah, yes, I do live around here... Well, not in the park." Jaize said laughing nervously, "Do you?" He asked, leaning forward lightly, still smiling.
'If she got lost in the park maybe she's just coming through town for a couple of days,' He thought to himself, while straightening up.
"Um...... Yeah. Yeah I do." She smiled sweetly back. ~Sweetly? I can be sweet? What's happening to me? This guy's having a bad effect on meeeeeeeeeeeee...~ "So do you walk through the park often?" Conversation, she couldn't think of much else. Her mind just seemed... Blank.
"Uh, sure..." He said slowly. He forgot what he remembered... Oh well, he'll worry about it later... Wait, what? Didn't he think that before? Meh. "Even though we're practically strangers, I suppose company would be appreciated." Crap, should not have said that. Should have just turned around. She was part of a bigger picture, he knew it.
Well, can't turn back now, "After you." *Smile*
"Uh..... Hm. Thanks." She said, her smile more confident then had been for some years now. She stood and looked at him, he was taller then her, though it wasn't hard. "It's not often I have company..." Her eyes lowered for a moment before she pushed those thoughts aside and looked up to his face. She couldn't HELP but to smile and couldn't for the life of her understand why.
Following suite, Jaize walked beside her through the park. It was actually quite strange... Talking to someone else after living alone- Well, sort of alone.
He had wanted it to stay that way. He didn't want to get involved. He was fine when he was alone. Yet here he was, walking alongside someone he barely knew. In the park. He didn't dare think further on that one.
"... So..." Very awkward, "How have you been?" He said turning slightly to see her face. It was ridiculous really. Out of all the things he could of asked. He could only think to ask how she was…
One thing was for certain… This was going to be one long walk.
Krystal could not help but to chuckle at his question, how was she? "I could complain, but I won't. How about you?" She was thankful to be rid of that awkward silence though, it gave her shivers - silence did that. Silence always reminded her of the night she decided to leave her family, it gave an almost haunting sensation that caused her blood to run cold. She hated silence. This was her reason for never leaving the city.
"I suppose it's better than usual, though I can't complain," Jaize said turning back to look in front of him. "How about a game of 20 Questions to pass the time?" Funny, he still couldn't think of anything to say... Might as well try to get to know her...
Krystal's stomach threatened to clench, but it seemed to take pity on the girl and settled enough for her to answer without thinking, "sure, why not?"
She looked down at her feet but still smiled. Why did she have to smile? As slight as it was, it was still there. Surely she would be looking like one of those bimbos who smile at everything, even the bad. Kind of like that Lisa girl from Australian Idol.
Tahlia had adapted to the idea of Rex pretty quickly; of course he got screamed at whenever he tried to converse with her during classes or... showers... Other than that their friendship was okay and the council hadn't bothered Tahlia after that incident.
Rex did notice a file on her though and it was quickly building up with her daily habits and questions about how she replaced him in the fight. He'd need to do something about that.
But until then he wouldn't say a word about it to the girl... she might not help him then.
~*~*~
Artax watched over the park from a great height; it was interesting the people you saw all in the same vicinity - wolves, pires, humans, shifters, kanetics... It intrigued him.
His golden eyes shifted to a couple on the street as they strolled along, hand-in-hand. His pupils became slits as he watched. It sickened him that such a pair could act in such a manner - that ANYONE could act in such a manner. The ones he detested were the ones in love - a thing he would never have, never feel and NEVER want. The very memory chilled and churned inside him and he willed the thoughts to pass as his mind quickly filled with new thoughts - fresh thoughts - plans.
He ran to the side of the building that over-looked the alley and dropped gracefully to the ground, his black, velvet coat falling even more gracefully behind him. He stood and straightened his neck with a crack before walking out onto the busy street and stepping in line behind the couple.
~*~*~ Loreli looked up and smiled at her treasured one whose hand she so lovingly grasped. With her head resting against his shoulder they strolled down the street, the many people rushing by did not seem to matter as the wandered along in their own little world. They could never be more of an opposite pair but they seemed to fit together so perfectly that nothing could break such a strong bond. She was such a bright angel and he was so dark - but both had a lovely nature and not a bad bone in their body.
Loreli had golden hair that waved down her back but came to an abrupt end just above her pelvis, her skin shone with a luminous inner light, lips of a pink rose that only an angel could possess and eyes of a pale angel blue took residence on her beautiful, rounded face. She was slender, fragile and small at only 5 foot 2. Where as her long time partner stood at a proud 6 feet and had a strong, masculine build with sturdy square shoulders and a strong jaw line and nose. His eyes were the deepest, darkest brown and his hair was black and cut short to be spiked up only slightly with a small amount of gel.
Their smiles never once faltered while they were together - on a day such as this - as they walked hand in hand. Nothing else in the world mattered.
~*~*~
Artax smiled as the two crossed the road and walked off into one of the side streets. He continued to pursue the couple until the crowd thinned and they turned once again into an even more deserted street. Now was his moment.
A gust of wind separated the couple, sending the male stumbling into the gutter and the female sprawling to the side of the building. Back, and it had knocked the man to his hands and knees, to his stomach. A moment passed and the dark haired man was lifted from the ground and thrown into the wall, pinned face first to it by another.
A voice spoke in little then a whisper, thick with an accent. "Do not try to scream. Do not struggle. You will only arouse me further." A finger stroked the side of his face as he began to twist in an attempt to free himself. The attacker hissed and pushed the man's face hard into the wall. "I am in no mood to restrain you any further, precious. Settle or this will be no fun for either of us."
Before long a man lay, abandoned in a pool of his own blood with a deep, oozing cut from ear to ear.
~*~*~
Artax perched himself on the edge of the brick wall that surrounded the park and watched as his new-found pet sobbed uncontrollably on the grass. Funny, he thought, how no passers-by stop to ever help the troubled souls that cry for their assistance. Funny, how oblivious the human world can be.
Loreli crumbled to her knees and sobbed. How could this happen? Why? How? What? She could make sense of none of it. Her life had suddenly crumbled in around her to form a claustrophobic sphere tightly around her now fragile and weak body. The man at the wall sickened her, she longed to run, tried to will her legs to move but her body was paralysed with the shudders and spasms from her uncontrollable gasps.
She had been dragged to this spot though did not need much coaxing, she seemed to stumble, he just held her from falling. His touch was icy and it caused her skin to crawl. He could not be human, but that could not be possible.
She threw her head back and screamed as the sun set, the people passing did not even turn to stare, turn to wonder and inquire. She was abandoned now. His face flashed inside her memory - her memory - it was the only place he would live now. She could hear his voice telling her to be strong. He was always telling her to be strong. Her eyes opened and she looked up. "Be strong?" She whispered to herself. "Be strong." It became more of a statement now as she clambered clumsily to her feet. Her legs swayed for a moment but stabilised all the same. She would be strong, if only for him.
Turning only her head, she looked to the man perched atop the graffitied wall and said; her eyes filled with sorrow "You took from me, all that I had. Why did you spare me? Why did you bring me here where I could make a fool of myself?"
_____________________________________________________
The teen tossed clothes and toppled objects as he made his way around the dark flat, trying for anything even remotely valuable. His violet fringe flicked across his left eye got in the way from time to time, but it looked good enough accompanied by his shorter black hair at the back - though he wanted to tare it off at the present moment. His skin was an average pale with his lips but a shade darker, abnormally pale but coloured just the same. His eyes shone yellow now, though usually glowed a brilliant shade of blue. His canines were sharper then your average person and his senses were sharp - they had to be when he was breaking and entering.
His baggy black pants were a poor choice of clothing for today, but he was not aware that he would need to pull off a job on his day off. The straps on the backs of the pants kept hooking and hindering him, though his black "Kiss me I'm metal" shirt seemed to behave itself just fine. He could have a tail and be more careful then what he was with these pants. His current nerves were not helping aid his situation any, however. He had not been scouting this joint and so was not aware of how long the occupant would be away for. It seemed he found a poor old guy though with no valuables.
Wait just a minute, there was a camera - not very flashy but it was something. Alekxandr picked it up and examined it.
~*~*~
After Waite walked the stairs to the apartment he stopped to rest. Pulling out his keys, he soon realised a small noise that came from the apartment. He had nothing of value, if you ignored cloths, except for a camera.
As if jolting he swiftly threw the key into the door and turned the handle. He pushed the door open and could see little in the darkened room. He moved to through the others and with adjusted eyes, saw the trail a burglar had made. Waite followed the trail to his room and was stunned.
He had found the intruder. His eyes narrowed and darkened to a midnight blue. He saw the glow of the intruders eyes - yellow. Waite spoke with an almost twisted voice. ‘Do you know where you are?’
As if spooked by the clearly demented tone Waite chanted. The burglar went through the window, and down the escape.
Waite could only watch as he saw his only priced possession leave with the yellow-eyed thief.
Waite followed and trapped the creature on the level down. Pinned to the floor of the landing, the stranger was forced to face Waite.
‘Xander,’ he loosened his grip… ‘Xander?’
~*~*~
Icarus sat on the steps of an apartment building that opened onto the main run of the city. Cars, people and animals all passed him by as he merely sat and watched the day pass with little else to pre-occupy himself with; not that, if given the choice, he would choose to spend his afternoon any other way.
